Alicia M. Morris-White

My English name is Alicia M. Morris-White, my Tlingit name is Yikdatoo.

My mother Is Denise Morris (Xeetlee) & my father is John C White.  Maternal grandparents are Alice (Kasko) Morris & Dennis J Morris Sr..  Maternal great grandparents are Ruth M (Katzeek) Kasko & Edwin Kasko of Klukwan.  My paternal grand parents are Marlene Corpuz & Jake White Jr. My paternal great grandparents are Jake Sr. & Lilly White of Hoonah.

I am 16 years old, learned beading, regalia making, basketweaving, ravenstail & chilkat weaving from my great grandmother Ruth Kasko & mother Denise E Morris. This past winter I took a basketweaving class from Deloris Churchill & ravenstail weaving from Cheryl Samuel.

I have also had part in the current harvest blanket & harvest leggings with my mother Denise & Aunt Lorraine Kasko under Lani Hotch's instruction.

I have lived in Klukwan and grew up in Klukwan off and on all of my 16 years.

I have been working on baskets, patches, and drums this year, and plan on continuing with my Tlingit crafts as I grow as an artist.
